8th - 12th June

Hello boys and girls. I hope you are all well and enjoyed the sunshine last week. Well done everybody for your super work. You and your Mammies and Daddies are working very hard. It was great to see your pictures of sports week. It looks like you all had lots of fun.

We have almost reached our summer holidays. This week I have included some fun activities for you to try. I hope you enjoy them. As always complete what you can.

You can also keep working on your writing copies, maths book and sounds like phonics workbook as you wish.

We are also going to learn some very important lessons about water safety this week. I will send a copy of the water safety activities to your parents' email. These are great fun and I hope you all enjoy them and get lots of information.

Take care everyone, be happy, keep safe and have a lovely week.

Until next week,

Mrs. O’Neill

Tricky word games

Use your Tricky words to play the following games -

Tricky word reveal- This game requires two pieces of paper. Write a word from the list on a piece of paper. Then cover the word completely with the other piece of paper. Slowly reveal the first letter of the word.  Ask your child if they can guess what the word will be from looking at the first word.

Tricky Word Hunt – You could write a few of these words on pieces of paper and stick them up in a room in the house.  Call out one of the words and you child can go and search for it.

I Spy – Similar to the ‘Tricky Word Hunt’ You could have a few words stuck up in a room. Tell your child ‘I spy a word beginning with W. I spy a word ending in g’ etc.

Tricky Word Toss – This is a game that can be played outside but you could also play it indoors. Write a few tricky words on pieces of paper. Spread them out on the grass. Ask your child to throw something soft e.g a ball onto a word. They then run to the word that they have landed on and read it.
